1. We are Black.
We are dark-skinned and good, created this way by the Lord. We were born with a colorful black identity as the offspring of our African forebears. We appreciate our God-given and beautiful blackness!
2. We are Light.
We willingly and joyfully choose to follow Jesus Christ who proclaimed, “I AM the light of the world.” By an act of faith in Jesus, we were born into the family of God. Our new birth by God moves us to accept how the Lord defines His children and disciples when He says of us, “You are the light of the world.”
3. We are a Black Light.
We naturally accept and holistically integrate the essence of our blackness and Christianness. We embrace a godly and transforming identity that flows from the black/African historical, cultural, and spiritual roots of biblical persons and nations. We worship God and celebrate our Christ-centered black identity.
4. We are a Black Light Fellowship.
We believe in Christ-centered black identity, unity, and community. We purpose to belong to one another as Black believers in Christ. We live and work together in oneness as a collective black light, as a collaborative of black folks in Christ.
